I love to read children's books.  Here are some that I would highly recommend:

Percy Jackson is a twelve year old boy with ADHD.  He discovers that he is the son of Poseidon, God of the Sea, when he attends Camp Half Blood.  This action-packed adventure will thrill kids 8 to 12 years old.

Fifth grader, Naomi Soledad Leon Outlaw and her brother, Owen, live in a trailer park with their grandmother.  When Naomi's irresponsible mother returns to claim her, Gram takes the children to Oaxaca, Mexico, to find their father.  This is a touching story of family and loyalty.

Fifth grader, Dave Packer, gets an idea one day for a no-talking contest between the fifth grade girls and fifth grade boys at Laketon Elementary.  Teachers don't know how to react to the silence from a group once known as the "Unhushables".  Packed with humor, this middle grade novel will make you think about the power of words.
